Physical Training
The Corps of Cadets is an organization modeled after the military and puts heavy emphasis on physical training. Training times take place every afternoon Monday through Friday except wednesdays (which is reserved for extra study time), and Wednesday and Friday mornings. The physical regimen undertaken by cadets in D-1 is very intense. Its not unusual to see cadets gain 15-20 pounds in their first semester in Spider D, or for those incoming freshman who are out of shape we have cadets lose as much as 60 pounds in their first few months here. This constant physical activity ensures cadets stay in shape, healthy, and helps those cadets pursing a contract to maximize their score on the military physical fitness test. At the same time cadets are constantly monitored by upperclassmen and military officers to make sure they do not get injured or over exert themselves.
